FOREGATE Street has now reopened following a burst water main.

Worcester city centre commuters have been affected by road closures throughout the week after a pipe burst on Monday (May 13).

However, it reopened today (Friday).

Paul Baldwyn, streetworks lead for Severn Trent, said: “We’re pleased to say Foregate Street has now reopened following the completion of the emergency repairs and reinstatement of the road, to put everything back to normal.

“We want to thank everyone for their patience during this complex emergency repair, which saw the road closed to keep our teams and the public safe.

“Our priority had also been to keep everyone on water supply in the area, including a local hospital, but we do understand how frustrating roadworks like this can be, so we want to thank everyone again for their understanding.”
