VALE swimmer Tazmin Pugh came home with a fistful of medals from the ASA National Age Group Swimming Championships.

The Ellesmere College Titan, aged 14, took a silver in the 200m individual medley in a new personal best time of 2min 20.26sec, just one second behind British junior international and multi-gold medallist Holly Hibbott, from Southport.

Pugh now sits in first place in the UK in the end-of-year ranking.

The following day Pugh, who also swims at Worcester Swimming Club, took her first ever ASA National Age Group title in the 400m IM in another PB of 4.56.45 (first in the UK rankings).

A silver followed in the 100m butterfly despite swimming in an outside lane in a new PB of 1.02.44, just behind Southport’s Hibbott again.

She came third in the 200m butterfly with yet another personal best of 2.17.91 and even recorded a PB in the 400m freestyle, finishing in a gutsy fifth place in a time of 4.25.64.
