WEST Mercia Women’s Aid has been chosen as charity of the year at one of Worcestershire’s major law firms.
QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright – which has offices in Worcester, Evesham and Droitwich – has taken the decision as part of its commitment to victims of domestic abuse. In November 2013, the firm launched a specialist domestic abuse unit which includes a drop in centre headed up by Suzanne Oldnall, who explained: "The reasons behind our decision to appoint West Mercia Woman’s Aid is closely linked to our commitment to helping victims of domestic abuse. We work closely with agencies like West Mercia Women’s Aid, which offers a vital support network to victims and survivors.”
Jan Frances, chief executive of West Mercia Women’s Aid, added: "We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated to be QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright’s charity of the year. We have worked closely with them over the last few years and in particular around the launch of its domestic abuse unit. We look forward to continuing our good work together for the benefit of people affected by domestic abuse.”
