A WORCESTER boutique clothing store is celebrating its 10th birthday with a series of fashion show events.

Stripes in The Foregate was set up in 2004 by sisters Claire Wright and Jenny Plant and two years ago they added a beauty salon to their premises.

"We are thrilled to be celebrating 10 years in Worcester," said co-owner Mrs Wright. ‘We are extremely grateful to local people for supporting our independent store over the last decade and we wanted to celebrate with them all."

The birthday events begin on Thursday, September 25 with a fashion show in the walled garden at Greyfriars in Worcester. The Stripes team will run the event with help from other Worcester businesses. Bindles is serving canapes and running an after-show bar, Angela Veronica will serve celebration cakes and Beautiful Flowers is providing floral displays.

"We are working with some wonderful Worcester businesses. There is a fantastic network of independent retailers in the city and we are pleased that they are celebrating with us," added Mrs Plant.

Stripes 10 Year Celebration Fashion Show will feature clothing from the autumn winter collection including designers such as By Malene Birger, Ganni and AG jeans, plus footwear from Russell and Bromley. The event will raise money for the Greyfriars window fund to repair and replace windows in the medieval merchant’s house. Tickets cost £25 to include champagne, canapes and a goodie bag.

"Greyfriars is such a magical venue and we can’t wait to share a fun and inspiring evening, while raising money for a local landmark," said Mrs Plant.

On Wednesday, October 15, Stripes is inviting people to join them at Brockencote Hall for a champagne afternoon tea and fashion show. Tickets £25. For all ticket enquiries call 01905 26772.
