THER are two new names on the desks at Worcestershire law firm Thomas Horton LLP Solicitors.

Associate solicitor Rowena Slater-Reay and law graduate Laura Faye Edmunds have joined the conveyancing division of the firm, which has offices in Worcester, Bromsgrove and Barnt Green.

Rowena brings extensive experience to the role and will specialise in residential conveyancing. With a particular focus on new-build properties, lease extensions and right to buy, she has a reputation, built on more than 15 years in the industry. Having previously led a residential property department in Birmingham City Centre, Rowena has delivered a record number of property transactions across the UK.

She said: "I’m really excited to be joining Thomas Horton as it has such an excellent reputation and the position presents so many opportunities. The conveyancing division is going from strength to strength and has doubled in size; I’m delighted to be part of the team moving forward.”

Supporting Rowena is law graduate Laura Faye Edmunds, who is keen to develop her career with the firm that provides a wide range of legal services throughout Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Laura is working towards specialist paralegal qualifications and aims to qualify as a solicitor in the future.

Having previously worked with Rowena at a Midlands based firm, Laura is determined to build on her experience, developing her legal skills in the process.

Well-known for providing a friendly, proactive and efficient service at the right price, the conveyancing team has attracted a number of high-calibre candidates from across the region in recent months.

Lisa Johnson, partner and head of property services at Thomas Horton, said: “As an expanding practice, we are delighted with the calibre of professionals that have joined the firm.

It is great to have Rowena and Laura on board; they both bring valuable and solid expertise from previous roles and I am confident that they will add significant value to the firm.”

She added: “Working with such a diverse range of clients, it is important that we have a diverse team in place to manage transactions with a first-class, friendly service that will make any sale as straight forward as possible.”

As well as the latest recruitment drive, Thomas Horton has invested in new IT software to include a bespoke conveyancing case management system to further enhance efficiencies across the business.
