READY for the onset of winter, there's a new face at Droitwich based flood experts UK Flood Barriers.

Cliff Arnold, has joined the Hampton Lovett business as managing director after a successful career in the military and more recently in renewable heating management.

Since being set up back in 2007 by engineering visionary, Frank Kelly UK Flood Barriers has gone from strength to strength, doubling the size of its workforce in less than a year.

Mr Arnold has been brought in to work alongside Mr Kelly and the team to help develop the business and ensure it remains at the forefront of flood defence technology both at home and abroad. His range of experience across manufacturing, product development, quality management and marketing, in both his own business and for leading heating and renewables companies, means he is well placed to help lead UK Flood Barriers at what is an exciting time for the UK flood sector.

He said: "The opportunity to join an already successful company in a new and rapidly growing industry sector was ‘a no brainer’ for me. After six years in the Royal Marines I’m used to responding to a variety of different challenges. I feel certain with the highly experienced UK Flood Barriers team behind me, we can continue to raise awareness of flood risk, push boundaries with our innovative design and set quality standards for the industry to follow."

Mr Arnold replaces Sarah Marriot, co-founder of UK Flood Barriers, who has taken on the role of chief operating officer in the business.
