STAFF at Worcester technology company Postcode Anywhere were ding-donging merrily on high when they sang Christmas carols to the residents at the city's high rise complex in

Cripplegate House, Henwick House and Severn House.

The newly built sky lounge at the top of Cripplegate House, opened its doors to welcome the tuneful technologists for what has become a Postcode Anywhere team tradition when members of the Diglis-based business go out into the community and sing carols and Christmas songs to the elderly. This year Postcode asked Fortis Living whether the choir sing in the sky lounge.

Kate Fenton, Fortis Living’s social activities co-ordinator said: “We were delighted to welcome Postcode Anywhere to the sky lounge. We had such a lovely evening and everyone joined in with the carols and the community spirit the event generated was heart-warming. The company contacted us initially over our Intergenerational mosaic project which it kindly contributed to and then asked us if staff could come and entertain us with carols. They also brought us boxes of chocolates which was a lovely gesture.”

Postcode Anywhere prides itself on going out into the community and spreading a little bit of festive cheer to its neighbours. The carol concert has become a real tradition and is now in its seventh year.

Chief executive Guy Mucklow said: “The sky lounge is an amazing venue which is a great vantage point to view the city which looked stunning by lamplight. The residents we sang for extended such a warm welcome to us and it was nice to meet new people in the community. The team at Postcode Anywhere love this time of year and although we’re not an accomplished choir our enthusiasm and desire to please was very much appreciated.”
