A WORCESTER company has won a prestigious business award.

Magic Whiteboard, of Blackpole West Industrial Estate, has been named as the West Midlands winner of the Great Faces of British Business competition.

The contest, which is run by Business is Great Britain in association with BT, aims to find the most innovative and exciting UK businesses.

The Worcester company was named as the best exporter in the West Midlands and is now in the running to win the national competition and a top prize of £30,000 of government support.

Neil Westwood, managing director of Magic Whiteboard, said: “We’re thrilled to have been selected as a regional winner in the Great Faces of British Business competition.

“There’s a wealth of innovative small and medium-sized businesses out there and it’s great to be recognised as one of them by the competition.

“We would love to win the national award and so please show your support by voting for us at greatbusiness.gov.uk/competition.”

Magic Whiteboard allows you to create a whiteboard from a roll anywhere in seconds. After being successful on BBC Dragons' Den its sales have dramatically risen since 2008.

The company now exports to 20 countries around the world including the USA, Australia, Egypt, Korea, New Zealand and Germany. It supplies retailers such as Ryman Stationery, Office Depot and Amazon, as well as supplying over 1,800 schools.

Business Minister Matthew Hancock MP added: “I’m delighted to see the Great Faces of British Business competition celebrating the small businesses up and down the country that form the bedrock of economic growth.

“Magic Whiteboard is a brilliant example of a successful small firm run by enterprising and hard-working people.
