A TRAINING event as part of a government national programme has been held at The Stables conference and meeting venue at Wychbold, near Droitwich.

It was run by Sharing in Growth UK Ltd for Aeromet International, a Worcester-based company and a global leader in the supply of castings to the aerospace, defence and autosport industries.

Aeromet of Cosgrove Close, Blackpole, is taking part in an ambitious scheme to raise the capability of UK aerospace suppliers. This aims to increase its share in the growth of aerospace and other global markets.

The government backed scheme seeks to provide Aeromet with a concentrated training and development programme tailored to its needs and targeted at world class standards of performance. The training and development cover all relevant disciplines, including lean operations, manufacturing processes, purchasing, cost modelling and leadership.

Simon Forster of Sharing in Growth training team said: "It is important to source venues that are well lit with natural light, located away from the workplace in quiet comfortable surroundings and where a bespoke quality service including good food is provided. The Stables venue in Wychbold met all those requirements and more."

Aeromet has three UK foundries in Worcester, Rochester and Sittingbourne and employs 260 people with a turnover of £20 million. The company has more than 30 years experience and is continuously developing techniques and processes that enable it to form unique and lasting partnerships with the biggest names in the industry.
