A LOCAL cafe has been chosen as a charity partner by a bank in a Worcestershire market town.

TSB has picked Cafe 27 in Teme Street, Tenbury Wells and will now work with it on fundraising projects. The partnership was unveiled by bank manager Daniel Fenton, who presented £100 to kick-start the venture.

Mr Fenton said: "I’m delighted to announce Cafe 27 as our first local charity partner in Tenbury Wells. Our focus at TSB is to serve local customers and businesses in order to fuel local economies, and that’s why we’re launching a new approach to how we support charity and community. Cafe 27 does some amazing work in the area and it was really important to us to pick a charity partner that gives so much back to the community. We can’t wait to get our fundraising off the ground and work together to make a real impact locally.”

Instead of having a centrally chosen charity of the year, TSB Partners across Britain are empowered to recognise local causes which share the bank’s passion for helping local communities thrive. Cafe 27, a youth cafe project, was nominated for the work it does in the community to provide a safe and stimulating environment for young people aged 11-19 to meet their friends and access information, help and support as they grow up. It offers a range of opportunities to try new activities such as kayaking, mountain biking, trips and residential visits.
