A LEADING local IT company donated more than £30,000 to Worcestershire charities, clubs and associations during 2014.

OGL Computer, which is based in Stourport on Severn, supported a whole host of causes including Midlands Air Ambulance, Cure Leukaemia, Sutton Cancer Support Centre, St Richard’s Hospice, Kidderminster Lions U7s and U8s and Bewdley Rowing Club among others.

OGL's marketing manager Cindy Phillips said: “OGL is very committed to supporting our local community with charitable donations and support wherever we can. As a socially responsible and ethical family-run business we hope the £30,000 plus the company and our staff raised last year shows proof of that commitment. We very much value our customers and staff and so we focus our charitable support on those organisations that they ask us to help which is a great way to show them that we appreciate their support and commitment to us as a company too. This has meant that we also support organisations outside of our local community as our customers are spread across the length and breadth of England and Wales.”

OGL was invited to Strensham Air Base, just off the M5, by Midlands Air Ambulance where the service received cheque for £4,130. Representing OGL was receptionist Sam Fletcher, who presented the cheque to Richard Apps, Laura Rogers, both air ambulance paramedics, and Captain Mark Dennis, air ambulance pilot.

Each year, OGL selects one charity to be its nominated company charity. In 2015 it will be supporting Winston’s Wish, which helps bereaved children across the UK in need of support to make sense of death and rebuild their lives. To boost charity donations to other organisations made by the company, staff at the IT solutions company are encouraged to get involved in fundraising days by way of dress down days and coffee mornings which are held every month in aid of different causes.
