CUSTOMERS at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold, near Droitwich raised £54 for St Richard’s Hospice in an unusual Easter egg competition.

Webbs teamed up with local cheese producers Croome Cuisine of Whittington, Worcester to produce its very own "cheese-ter" egg. Customers were asked to make a donation of £1 to guess the weight of the egg, which was made from Webbs honey and ginger cheese with a Whittington red cheese centre and encased in bees' wax.

The winner was Robert Bagley from Worcester, who guessed closest to the actual weight of 1.234kg. Leanne Hodgetts, business development manager at Croome Cuisine, said: “This charity is very close to our hearts after a very close family member passed away here three years ago. The care and support they gave her and us will never be forgotten and we were pleased to give something back to them to show our appreciation.”
