TO celebrate a special occasion some firms have a meal or maybe go down the pub. However, The Little Soap Company team took part in a firewalk.

Business founder Emma Heathcote-James led her colleagues over 1000c degree red hot wood embers at the event at Mallory Court Hotel, Leamington Spa.

It marked the Broadwas business winning a contract to create an exclusive range for Waitrose, which will hit the shelves at the end of October.

Ms Heathcote-James said: "It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. A fire walk is often used as a rite of passage, or test of an individual's strength and courage. It was certainly bonding, especially as we compared the odd hot spots and little blisters, which are now our 'trophies', over a glass of fizz at the end of the night.

"There is something very empowering being stood in front of the walk with your head screaming: 'No, this is ridiculous'. Yet finding the courage to step out on to the glowing embers anyway.

"But the madness did have some reasoning behind it between overall the firewalk raised more than £10,000 in sponsorship for charity."
