SEVEN businesses were presented with accreditation certificates at the Worcestershire Works Well bi-annual event in Worcester Guildhall.

The awards recognised the companies' work to create effective staff engagement and staff well being and a good working environment.

Those receiving certificates were: Interserve of Claybrook Drive, Reddich, Wychavon District Council, Mainstay Group of Whittington Road, Worcester, Phoenix Group of Wythall, BOBST of Lakeside, Redditch, Worcester City Council and Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

More than 60 people attended the event which coincided with International Men’s Day and focussed on men’s health and staff engagement. There were keynotes speeches about male health, including prostate cancer, and challenge to produce a health warning poster with the winning submission featuring rugby and carrying the caption “Tackle your Tackle: Kick your Health Issues into Touch”.

Karen Fox, head of employee services at Mainstay Group, said: "We have been with Worcestershire Works Well for 12 months now, and I was delighted to receive my certificate and play a part in the event today. Yet again I have left with more knowledge than I came with. Worcestershire Works Well is excellent not only for raising awareness about health but also for bringing people together.”

Worcestershire Works Well is a multi-agency partnership between Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Regulatory Services, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Wellness Works and the Sports Partnership, designed to support businesses to improve the health and well-being of their employees through a free accreditation scheme.
