A WORCESTER businessman met Chancellor George Osborne in Downing Street to tell him some of the secrets of his success.

Guy Mucklow, president of city firm PCA Predict - formerly Postcode Anywhere - was invited to a reception at the Chancellor's home, 11 Downing Street, by Worcester's MP Robin Walker.

Marcus Burton, of Yamazaki Mazak, was also a guest of Mr Walker at the event, which saw leaders representing some of the region’s most successful companies come together.

The aim of the Chancellor’s reception was to bring business leaders together from across the Midlands. It was a forum for the exchange of ideas and an opportunity for delegates to network with like-minded individuals.

PCA Predict was founded in 2001 as a ‘privately funded’ two-man start-up to the multi-million turnover company it is today. It now employs more than 60 people, providing a range of data services to over 10,000 global customers.

The event enabled Mr Mucklow to speak to the Chancellor about his experience managing the company’s rapid growth trajectory and its employee ownership scheme which he believes has contributed to its overall success.

PCA Predict opened a fully-staffed New York office in the latter part of 2015 with plans to acquire more offices in key global locations.

He said: “It is an honour to be invited to Downing Street and to have the opportunity of speaking to the Chancellor about what we do at PCA Predict.

"He (the Chancellor) seemed genuinely interested in the technology that we provide, which is used by millions of people every day, and it was great to be recognised for what we have achieved over the years.”
