THERE'S a new food and beverage manager at The Wood Norton hotel in Evesham.

With more than 15 years’ experience in the hospitality sector, Jorge Pereira has worked for a number of prestigious establishments across the UK, including Berkshire’s Clivedon House, Leamington Spa’s Restaurant 23 and most recently, The Welcombe Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

At The Wood Norton, he will be responsible for the day-to-day running of its rosette-winning Fleur de Lys restaurant, together with its newly launched Fleur de Sel Brasserie, which opened to the public in May.

Mr Pereira said: "I am extremely proud to have joined one of Worcestershire’s most luxurious hotels at such an exciting time. Apart from running the popular Fleur de Lys restaurant, I am very much looking forward to the challenge of increasing awareness of the new Fleur de Sel Brasserie, which I am sure will be very popular with guests who don’t want the formal dining experience.”

The Fleur de Sel Brasserie was born out of The Wood Norton’s "old kitchen", and now offers an alternative menu to the Fleur de Lys, with starters including Hoisin confit duck salad and moules mariniere, and mains consisting of cider honey chicken, steaks, and slow roasted lamb shank.

The hotel's general manager Steve Sweeny added: “I am delighted to welcome Jorge to The Wood Norton. He will be an excellent asset to our team moving forwards, and has already come up with some fantastic ideas for how we can improve our food and beverage offering. I am in no doubt he will be a hit with both team members and guests alike.”
