ONE of south Worcestershire's leading transport firms is on the move.

R Sinclair Transport plans to relocate to Vale Park, Evesham from its current base in the town at Four Pools. The company has secured control of a five-acre site at Vale Park and proposes to move and expand its operation next year. The family owned business was established by Ron Sinclair in 1947 and has been trading in Evesham ever since, occupying its current base in Four Pools for the last 33 years.

Sean Sinclair, director of R Sinclair, said: "This is a great opportunity to relocate away from a residential area to a premium industrial site and allow our business to expand, bringing with it investment in Evesham and the potential for new jobs."

The new facility will provide up to 80,000 sq ft of brand new (10m high) distribution warehouse, to replace the existing 60,000 sq ft (6m high) buildings, together with a large yard and lorry wash. This will allow the business to expand its operations in the Evesham area and, in turn, create more job opportunities for local people and a detailed planning application will be submitted to Wychavon District Council shortly.

The existing RST site at Four Pools, opposite Morrisons, will be redeveloped by Helical Retail, which has submitted a planning application for a scheme which will be anchored by Aldi. If successful, the relocation of RST will be completed next summer.
