A WORCESTERSHIRE firm which hires out a classic car has been named the winner of a prestigious award.

Fiat 500 Hire, based in Earls Common, Droitwich, has received the wedding transport supplier of the year in the Bridebook.co.uk wedding awards.

Olivia Gauch, owner of Fiat 500 Hire, said: "I can’t believe that we won especially as we’ve only been established since 2015.

"The competition was really tough but it’s great that the classic Fiat 500 has been recognised in this way, especially as the iconic car celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

"It’s the ideal wedding car if you’re looking for something cute and quirky - it brings a smile to so many faces.”

One of the firm's vehicles featured in an international Christmas advertising campaign for the Italian make up brand Kiko Milano in 2016, and James May also drove one of the company's Fiats for his BBC2 television programme Cars of the People.

The firm faced tough competition as there were more than 70,000 entrants across all wedding supplier categories and a preliminary voting round that saw 180,000 votes cast.

Winners of each category were chosen by Bridebook.co.uk’s industry experts based on their skill, commitment and dedication to their role in the wedding industry.

“The Bridebook.co.uk wedding awards recognises the cream of the crop when it comes to venues and suppliers," Hamish Shephard, founder and chief executive of Bridebook.co.uk, said.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for local wedding businesses across the nation to gain the recognition and merit they deserve for their commitment and exemplary service to their couples, both past and present.”
