A MALVERN legal firm has donated thousands to a national campaign, supporting the charity in the UK to fund lifesaving hospital helipad.

Wills and Legal Services Ltd has donated £21,830 to a national campaign in order to raise money for the HELP Appeal, the only charity in the UK to fund lifesaving hospital helipads.

This latest donation takes the combined total donated, by Wills & Legal services to £350,000.

The money was raised through the firm offering nationally a free wills service, in exchange for a donation to the appeal.

The recommended donation was £40 for a single will, and £80 for minor wills.

Helicopter Emergency Landing Pads (HELP) appeal is run by the County Air Ambulance Trust, and works to identify where helipads or base infrastructure are needed the most and offer support to make a project become reality.

Tony Watson, director of Wills and Legal Services, said: "We are delighted by the response from the general public to our campaign and it is so very gratifying to be able to help such a worthwhile cause."

Robert Bertram, CEO of the HELP Appeal, said: “We are so thankful for this kind donation from the Wills and Legal Services in Malvern.

"Continued financial support helps us to plan helipad projects with confidence, and it is generous donations such as these that help to ensure we are able to provide hospitals with the lifesaving funding they require.

“After a serious accident, an air ambulance can often be the difference between life and death for critical patients."
