WORCESTERSHIRE'S legal stars were recognised with awards during a recently ceremony held at Stanbrook Abbey.

Worcestershire Law Society's awards dinner was held at the venue on April 7.

Claire Emery from Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR) received the coveted solicitor of the year award, and Hailey Nip, also from HCR, received the award for junior solicitor of the year.

Sarah Jayne Martin from HCR was presented with the trophy for trainee solicitor of the year, while James Sommerville, from Thomas Horton, was recognised for his service to the society including as a committee member for more than 20 years, with a special award.

Administrative and support staff who work a variety of roles in the legal profession were recognised as well, including Aimee Williams from Thursfields, who won the office manager award, Nysha Dowling from Hallmark Hulme, who won the administration award, and the paralegal award that went to Patricia Marleau from HCR.

The team from MFG won this year’s employment law department of the year award.

Former solicitor Lord Digby Jones was the guest speaker for the evening and he was joined by the master of ceremonies for the evening Hursty, from Free Radio's morning show.

Priya Tromans, president of Worcestershire Law Society, said: “It was a really enjoyable event –Stanbrook Abbey is a fabulous setting - and we were delighted to be celebrating such an array of legal talent from all over the county.

"Lord Jones is an excellent raconteur, so we were very well entertained, and our sponsors, who donated fabulous raffle prizes, were very generous.

"We very much appreciate their support.”
