A NEW gym in Evesham is planning to boost the health of business professionals in the region with the introduction of a new corporate fitness class.

Tonic Personal Training, based in Bishampton, was founded by experienced personal trainer, Brett Ukich, in October 2016.

The new corporate offering has been developed to help local professionals across Worcestershire and the Cotswolds keep fit, through group classes that can be undertaken during lunch breaks or after office hours at the gym.

The classes combine cardio with high intensity training, and can be tailored to individual groups to ensure the best results.

Mr Ukich said: “Scientific research has proven that office work, and predominantly sitting down for long periods of time is not good for our health or fitness levels, where studies have even shown it can increase risk of illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

“The main issue that professionals have is in finding the time to work out or go to a gym, particularly if they are working long hours.

"By introducing our new corporate group classes, Tonic Personal Training can help overcome this problem by encouraging colleagues to workout together– which also aids teambuilding, by strengthening workplace relationships.”

Staff at Bishampton-based product design agency, JMDA Design, have took part in the new class for eight weeks, and already team members are experiencing positive results.

Derrick Barker, creative and managing director of JMDA, said: “Brett has a great facility and range of equipment, and is able to provide a tailored training session to suit each designers personal preferences.

"There is a real buzz around the team on training days and we are all feeling the benefits.

"Brett is a great motivator and just the Tonic in an increasingly sedentary working life.”
