RESIDENTS of Worcester care home have been getting to grips with the online world during a training course.

Sanctuary’s Noble House in Oak View Way has been hosting the session as part of the Sanctuary Online initiative, which runs in partnership with training provider We Are Digital.

Tutors from We Are Digital worked in teams and one-on-one to help residents understand how to use the internet on the digital devices most familiar to them, whether that be on a PC, laptop, phone or tablet.

Six sessions have been organised each providing residents with a better understanding of how to use devices to send emails, search the internet and maps, shop online, and understand how to stay secure when browsing the internet.

Scheme services manager Vivienne Hobbs said: “National figures show that 12.6 million people lacked the digital skills necessary to access the internet in 2016.

“The Sanctuary Online initiative is shaping up to be a fantastic way for our residents to get to grips with the online world and access services in a new way.”

Course are open to Sanctuary residents, with different skill levels.
