OWNERS of Asian Art and fine paintings, prints and maps will have a chance to have them professionally valued when two experts from leading regional fine art auction house Halls pay a visit to Worcestershire.

Alexander Clement, Halls’ Asian Art specialists and James Forster, picture specialist, will be available to give free evaluations at the company’s office in Franche Road, Kidderminster on Thursday, January 21 from 10am-2pm.

Worcestershire has been a happy hunting ground for Halls over the years. The company’s record priced painting, an unrecorded work by popular 18th century English equestrian artist John Wootton (1682 -1764), which sold for £326,000, was discovered in the county in 2010. Mr Forster is hoping to find other valuable paintings at the valuation day while Mr Clement is keen to see Chinese and Japanese ceramics and works of art. Both men are happy to make home visits to view collections.

Mr Clements said: "Any owners of Asian Art and fine paintings may be unaware of their current market value and would advise them to seek a professional appraisal if only for insurance purposes."
