A HOUSING association has completed the final phase of a £6.75 million project on its homes.

Worcester Community Housing's (WCH) window and external door replacement programme - which was carried out by Norwich-based Anglian Building Products - was finished two years ahead of schedule.

The project involved more than 3,500 homes in Worcester and saw deteriorating joinery replaced with new uPVC.

This work was completed as part of a commitment WCH made to customers in 2004 when their homes were transferred from the city council.

The promise was to replace all single glazed windows with uPVC double glazing within six years of transfer.

Anglian's regional manager Ken Aston said: "The whole of the Anglian team have worked hard over the last four years to give WCH customers the best possible installation and support services we can. The new windows and doors have transformed city streets and customers are now enjoying all the benefits of warm, draught-free and comfortable homes."

WCH chief executive Stewart Mountfield said: "At the start of our work with Anglian, we were confident they would be able to deliver the right standard of product and service to our customers.

"Their wealth of experience and superior quality and service has seen their window and door products being used by housing associations the length and breadth of Britain.

"We are pleased with the specification and performance of the doors and the quality of Anglian's installation teams. They have worked with us to make sure our customers enjoy top-notch home improvements."

Anglian started work on WCH homes in July 2004.

The first home to benefit was in Boughton Avenue in St John's. Work finished with a home in Warndon.
