THE Bootleg Beatles will perform at Cheltenham Town Hall to mark their 30th anniversary.
The group are celebrating three decades of their homage to the Fab Four by performing live renditions of their greatest hits.
Neil Harrison (John Lennon), Andre Barreau (George Harrison) and David Catlin-Birch (Paul McCartney) met in 1979 when they were cast in the West End production of Beatlemania. When the show ended, the trio continued to perform The Beatles’ repertoire and the band was born.
The group has now evolved into a critically acclaimed act with note-perfect renditions and spectacular costume changes, recreating the six phases of the Beatles’ rise to fame. And with the inclusion of an eight-piece orchestra, the group are able to perform songs from the latter part of the Fab Four’s career which they never played live.
During their career, they have shared stages with Rod Stewart, Iggy Pop and Jon Bon Jovi at venues including Wembley Stadium, Glastonbury and even Buckingham Palace.
And they faced possibly their toughest audience when they performed in front of George Harrison for Dave Gilmore’s 50th birthday. The Beatle allegedly admitted “they probably know the chords better than I do.”
The Bootleg Beatles will perform at the town hall on March 27. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £22.50 and £18.
