A TALE of broken dreams and unrequited love is set to entertain a Churchdown audience
Since August St. John’s Players of Churchdown have been busy rehearsing for their November production ‘Ladies in Lavender’, which has been adapted for stage by Shaun McKenna from the hit film screen-play, by Charles Dance.
The film starred Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.
A spokesman for the St John's Players said: "The stage production is just as good and tells the tale of two sisters who, in 1937, live in a close-knit fishing village in Cornwall.
"When a handsome and talented young man is washed ashore, the sisters take him under their wing and nurse him back to health. However his presence disrupts their peaceful lives and the community in which they live."
The play will be performed at St John's Hall, Churchdown, from Tuesday, November 8 to Saturday, November 12.
