THREE times Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading will return to the Regal Cinema in Evesham following a hit show earlier this month.

After the success of her first sell-out show at the art deco style cinema on May 24, Joan Armatrading will return to wow audiences in an encore this August.

Joan has enjoyed a long and illustrious career with success in all musical genres including pop, blues, folk, reggae, and jazz.

On Friday, August 7, she will perform songs that span her entire career.

The stage will be set for a guaranteed mix of magical old favourites including Love and Affection, Willow, Drop The Pilot and Me, Myself I, as well as more recent compositions.

Joan Armatrading, who spent part of her childhood living in Birmingham, said: "I will never retire but this will be the last major tour that I will undertake. For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar, piano and singing. I want these concerts to be a special lively interactive one to one experience. I have absolutely enjoyed the last 42 years of performances but now, with my final major tour, I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience."

Laurence Wiper, live events manager at The Regal Cinema, said: “We are honoured to be welcoming Joan back to The Regal for a second night later this year. Joan’s performance on Sunday was extremely special and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The Regal is such an intimate environment in which to hear a world-famous artist, making it a truly unique evening. For anyone who missed out on seeing Joan on Sunday, her show in August comes highly recommended.”

Doors open at 7pm on August 7 and the show begins with a support act at 8pm.

Stalls tickets are available from £30 and can be purchased via The Regal’s website at www.theregal.ac or by calling the box office on 01386 421007.
