HEAR the Bob Dylan Story at The Theatre, Chipping Norton.

Bob Dylan famously could not attend the Nobel Laureate banquet, shortly before Christmas, and he won't be at Chipping Norton either.

But a tribute show will celebrate "a songwriting genius who spoke for a whole generation".

A spokesman said: "Enhanced by a top backing band, the show lovingly and authentically recreates the many songs that made Dylan the living legend he is today, the way we all remember hearing them.

"The heady idealism of Blowing In The Wind and The Times They Are AChangin; the electric venom of Subterranean Homesick Blues and Like A Rolling Stone. Timeless love songs like Lay Lady Lay and I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight; the mysticism of All Along The Watchtower or Mr Tambourine Man."

The spokesman added: "The lyrical tour de force of Hurricane to the catchy simplicity of Knocking On Heaven’s Door - these and many more memorable songs, along with some of the stories behind them, are captured to perfection.

"Experience the thrill and energy of a full-blown electric Dylan concert planted firmly in the 1960s, a time when anything seemed possible, in a show that will remind you what real nostalgia feels like, and have you digging out your old vinyls to sustain the pleasure just that little bit longer."

The date for the diary is Friday, February 10, at 7.45pm.
