THE eleventh Pershore Jazz Festival promises to be a banquet of fine music and fun once again.

The popular event offers more than 30 sessions across four venues in the grounds of Pershore College from Friday to Sunday, August 17-19, providing an exciting mix of styles from internationally acclaimed musicians.

Everything from New Orleans to traditional, mainstream and gypsy swing to ragtime, golden age and a pinch of modern can be savoured.

The scene will be set by the Big Chris Barber Band on Friday evening and extra colour will be added to the Plum Festival when the Eureka Parade Band march along the High Street on Saturday morning.

Sessions on the campus from the Vale Plum Pickers, led by Connecticut musician Jeff Barnhart, will help continue the purple theme.

All-day snacks and full meals will be available in the college restaurant and the bar will be stocked with a range of drinks including locally brewed real ale and the college’s own cider.

On-site caravan pitches, camping and bed and breakfast is available in the halls of residence – a two-minute walk from the music.

Entry is £20 on Friday and £25 for Saturday and Sunday.
