Move over, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson: there’s a new Baywatch team in town.

The trailer for the forthcoming new Baywatch movie – starring Zac Efron, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Alexandra Daddario – has finally dropped, and it looks set to be a laugh-a-minute flick.

The Seth Gordon-directed film, based on the hit 1990s TV series of the same name, sees devoted lifeguard Mitch (Dwayne) going up against new team member Matt (Zac) as they discover a local criminal plot which could threaten the future of the bay.

It’s an all-action comedy flick with explosions, one-liners and plenty of toned bodies squeezed into tiny items of beachwear, just as fans would expect.

Zac looks as chiselled as ever, but is completely overshadowed by Dwayne’s hulking physique.

There are also appearances from Leonardo DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend Kelly Rohrbach, taking over the role of CJ Parker made famous by Pammy, Quantico star Priyanka Chopra and US stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress.

The original series starred David as Mitch Buchannon, Pamela as CJ, Nicole Eggert as Summer Quinn and Yasmine Bleeth as Caroline Holden among many others, and ran from 1989 until 1999.

But this new big-screen version looks set to be slightly raunchier and a bit naughty, as the trailer itself even includes an F-bomb and a few naughty jokes.

Taking to Twitter, fans have expressed their delight over the teaser trailer, with plenty of adoration for its stars.

Some just couldn’t believe how good it actually looks, surprisingly.

Baywatch arrives in cinemas in May 2017.
