Kanye West has hit back at reports that he asked a wheelchair user at one of his concerts to stand up, declaring: "I'm a married, Christian man."

The rapper is currently on the Australian leg of his tour, but came under fire over the weekend after reports that he had asked a fan in a wheelchair to stand up during a concert in Sydney.

According to the Daily Mirror, on stage at his next Sydney date, Kanye explained: "What I want you to do is I want you to run the video everyone's talking about where I so-called screamed at somebody and everything.

"I want you to run that, right, since this is such big media-press-news and everything that obviously they trying to demonise me for."

He continued: "I want to take this platform. If I didn't have this last concert, maybe I would've tweeted something or put out a statement with a publicist, but I can talk directly to you - my fans.

"I'm a married, Christian man. So, if you take someone that can go from being a rock star across the globe and everything and make the decision to pick one woman and raise a family, anyone here that's married or that's in a relationship knows that there's enough things working against you.

"I'm not going to make one of them Ben Affleck statements and s***."

Kanye added: "At my concerts, I make sure everybody has as good a time as possible. So all this demonising me, it aint' going to work after a while. Pick a new target. Pick a new target.

"Because I'm not one of these dumba** artists that you're used to. You come at me, I'm going to take my platform and break this s*** down for real, intelligent people every night. And then, we'll get back to the music."

Radar Online has also reported that Kanye is keen for wife Kim Kardashian to give up her role on family reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

A source said: "Kanye wants her to walk away. They will be moving into their new mansion, and Kanye doesn't want cameras in their house."
