Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hinted that any plans to start a family with her new husband are on hold right now.

The X Factor judge - who surprised her fans when she suddenly wed Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini this summer - told the Daily Mirror that she has enough babies around her to satisfy any broody urges at the moment.

And she said she is also busy nurturing her hopeful on the singing show, Lauren Platt.

Asked about starting a family, Cheryl said: "Oh god. Kimberley (Walsh) just had her baby, a boy who I consider as a nephew. I don't need my own right now.

"I've got two... not so much in Lola, but I feel like I've got a little baby to take care of in Lauren on The X Factor, so I'm doing all right with 12 nieces and nephews, somebody on X Factor, and a baby with my best friend."

Cheryl, 31, also opened up to the paper about suffering from malaria four years ago.

The star had a near-fatal brush with the disease after a trip to Tanzania in 2010, and has admitted it was her lowest point.

"It puts everything into perspective when it's your health," said the Crazy Stupid Love singer.

"You can have anything in the world but if you haven't got your health, nothing else matters. Even if you do have money and you're fortunate to have money, you can't always pay to be healthy."
