Madonna has revealed she wants to try her hand as a comedian if her music career ever stalls.
The singer also told Jonathan Ross she was currently single and admitted that bad “timing” prevented her from marrying her lover Warren Beatty.
Appearing on Ross’s ITV chat show, she said she wanted to move into what she called “sitdown comedy”.
She said: “I like the idea of me coming out, sitting on a chair and a table with maybe a drink or two and just talk, talk about my life and say funny things and tell funny stories.”
Asked about Beatty, who she worked with in the Dick Tracy film shortly after her split from Sean Penn, she said: “That’s a perfect example of timing because he was ready and I wasn’t quite ready because I’d just got divorced.
“Remember there was another husband.”
The Like A Virgin star also revealed she regularly gets fashion advice from her 18-year-old daughter Lourdes, saying: “If Lourdes is around she will definitely give me the once over and say, ‘Oh Mom you are not leaving the house like that’.
“She did take a picture of my butt sticking out and send it back to me saying, ‘Mom really?’.”
:: The full interview with Madonna is on ITV on Saturday March 14. The guests on tonight’s show, which goes out at 9.40pm on ITV, are Sigourney Weaver, Thierry Henry, Martin Clunes, Kanye West and Tracey Emin.
