EastEnders’ Buster Briggs is bidding farewell to the soap after almost two years.

Actor Karl Howman, who plays the Albert Square fish stall holder, has filmed his final scenes and will leave in the next couple of weeks, according to Digital Spy.

The details of his exit are currently being kept under wraps, but his character is cheating on girlfriend Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) with Kathy Sullivan (Gillian Taylforth) in what will be an explosive plotline when it is revealed.

Since joining the soap in late 2014, Buster became part of a big storyline in which it was revealed he and Shirley were the parents of Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) and Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), and the subsequent fall-out from the revelation that Dean had raped his sister-in-law.

Buster’s complicated love life recently caused problems when Kathy was enjoying a night with him in a hotel while police tried to call her to tell her they believed her son Ben Mitchell was dead in the hospital.

She rushed home where she was comforted by Shirley, who was unaware she was having an affair with her boyfriend.

It was revealed Ben has survived and his boyfriend Paul Coker died, but Kathy put an end to the affair.
