AFTER all the fun of the Oscars comes a series of award-winning films being screened at Pershore's Number 8.

Audiences can enjoy an array of films which picked up awards including the Best Film Oscar winner Birdman (15) on Friday, February 27) at 7.30pm and the BAFTA Best Film winning and Oscar nominated Boyhood (15) on Thursday, March 5 at 7.30pm.

Boyhood features the Best Supporting Actress winning performance by Patricia Arquette. Following sell out screenings earlier this month the BAFTA Best British Film winner the Theory of Everything will be back on the Number 8 screen on Tuesday, March 10 and Saturday, March 14.

Eddie Redmayne who plays Stephen Hawking in the film was awarded the Best Actor prizes at the Oscars and BAFTA for his brilliant performance.

Emma Bangham, programme manager at Number 8, said: “There are so many great films released at this time of year that audiences really are spoilt for choice.

"We are very excited to be screening Birdman in the week that it was awarded the Best Film Oscar and have had a huge number of advance bookings for the other award winning films we’re showing over the next few weeks.

"Our screenings of The Theory of Everything this week have been selling out and there’s a great atmosphere after the screenings as people discuss the film and Eddie Redmayne’s fantastic performance.”

Other award winners coming to the Number 8 screen include Still Alice (12A) the story of a woman diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s for which Julianne Moore won a Best Actress Oscar and BAFTA, the drumming drama Whiplash (15) featuring the award winning Best Supporting Actor performance by JK Simmons and ’71 (15) starring BAFTA Rising Star Award winner Jack O’Connell.

Civil rights drama Selma (12A), Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper (15), Wild (15) and The Imitation Game (12A) are also scheduled.
