AN award winning radio broadcaster will be at The Artrix in Bromsgrove to talk about the historical value of eavesdropping.

Fi Glover will be talking about her work on Radio 4’s The Listening Project, the oral history project run jointly by the BBC and the British Library.

A spokesman said: "Over 1,000 intimate conversations between friends or relatives have been recorded since 2012, building a unique picture of our lives today.

"The British Library will archive the conversations, preserving them for future generations."

The spokesman added: "Eavesdropping on conversations between ordinary people is fascinating and gives a real insight into what people in Britain are thinking and talking about.

"The great success of The Listening Project has led to Fi presenting special editions devoted to conversations about Brexit and the 2017 General Election. The Listening Project Goes to the Polls heard the arguments, bewilderment, hope and despair of people with a wide range of opinions and showed how politics was affecting friends and families all over the country."

The date for the diary is July 7, at 7.30pm.
