SCOTTISH humour comes south once again, with a taste of the Edinburgh Comedy Festival at the Evesham Arts Centre.

And no-one will have to toss a wee caber or eat a haggis to get in.

The venue's been looking north for its fun recently, and next up are comics Marcus Birdman and Dave Chawner.

A spokesman said: "These are previews of hour-long shows, where acts test out their material and audiences get to see some great value comedy.

Dave Chawner's act is called, C'est La Vegan.

The spokesman added: "Award-winning comic Dave Chawner explores veganism in his new show about the origins of food, ideas and views."

Presumably, he doesn't like haggis.

Markus Birdman will find himself "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea".

The spokesman added: "It's about expectations; it's about creativity, it's about failure, it's about an hour.

"Don't expect live Satanic rituals. Those are reserved strictly for Markus's private life."

Presumably, that's in Edinburgh.

The fun will start at 8pm on Friday July 21. Tickets are £8 and available now from Evesham Almonry, 01386 446944 and www.EveshamArtsCentre.co.uk
