Awards handed out at rugby club
THERE was plenty of silverware of silverware on show when the senior and junior sections of Evesham Rugby Club staged their respective end of season presentations.
Leicester Tigers, England and British Lions forward Graham Rowntree was the chief guest at the men's annual dinner when the spoils of the season were handed out.
Senior Awards - Captain's Cup: Stuart Stock. First team Players' Player of the Year: Roly Holt. Second team Player of the Year: Tim Web. Third team Player of the Year: Keith Atkins & Jonathan Ferguson. Most Promising U-19 player (Bailey Cup): Will Tyrell. Most first team tries (Top Gun Trophy): Matt Jaques. Best Forward (Mick Hodges Memorial Trophy): Chris Maritza.
Most of the 250-strong youth membership turned out for the youth section function together with a large number of parents.
Proceedings were hosted by outgoing chairman Ian Stoddart who formally handed over the chair to new incumbent Alistair Sands.
