Rowing pair bring home a bronze
TWO Evesham junior rowers won gold for Great Britain while their own club was staging its annual regatta.
Will Tew and Rory Sullivan were selected as part of the 31-strong Great Britain junior squad competing at the Munich International Regatta.
Sullivan and Tew competed in the coxed four and picked up a bronze medal.
They then too part in the eight the next day when they won gold in a straight final against Spain and Austria.
The pair were then back in the eight where they came third in their semi-final which pitted six international crews against each other.
Third place meant they qualified for the final where they were up against five other international eights. The British eight won a creditable third place only a length and a half behind the gold medal winners from Germany.
Evesham junior crews are back in action over the half-term holiday weekend at the National Schools Regatta.
