Awards of a successful season handed out

CAPTAIN, top scorer and the find of the season collected the prizes at Evesham United's annual presentation night.

Staged at the Northwick Hotel, Mark Owen received the Supporters' Player of the Year Award after netting 33 times in a prolific campaign.

Steve Lutz earned the plaudits of his fellow players and showed just what an influence the midfielder has been as he stepped up to collect the Players' Player of the Year.

Manager Paul West was next up to announce the Managers' Player of the Year and it was no surprise when wing back Michael Hayden's name was called out after the teenager's magnificent form in his first season at the club.

Members of the A team were also present in force and manager Simon Parry praised his players before announcing the prize winners.

Simon White received his top scorer award, Daniel Allen was named Players' Player of the Year and Adam Styles was the Managers' Player of the Year.

Goalkeeper Ben Parry, maybe the busiest player in the team's inaugural season, received an award based on marks given by the opposition sides.

The managers of the two promoted teams from Southern League Division One Midlands could be assessing their prospects for next season in the Spanish sunshine this weekend.

West is celebrating his stag night in Puerto Banus with brother Leon and Micky Brennan and several other friends where he may well meet up with Gary Hackett.

The Stourbridge boss is also in Majorca celebrating his 40th birthday and an interesting discussion could take place over a few beers!
