Operation Christmas Child back next week

OPERATION Christmas Child will swing back into action on Monday when its Evesham outlet opens for its seasonal stint.

The charity’s co-ordinator for the three counties, Bob James, said the warehouse next to Jewsons on St Richard’s Road in Evesham would once again be the local hub for people to drop off their shoeboxes filled with goodies for needy children in countries across the globe.

The headquarters is open from 10am to 4pm and from 6.30pm to 9.30pm from Monday to Friday and from 10am to 2pm on Saturdays.

“The charity is 22 years old and we hope to reach the milestone of our hundredmillionth shoebox sent from this country this year.

“The shoeboxes will be going to countries such as Liberia in Africa and across Europe to Serbia, Romania and Belarus among others,” he said.

Once they have all been filled and collected, the shoeboxes will be blessed before being sent on their way on Sunday, December 9.

This is excellent! I am glad to see when people are pulling together to make a difference. We got do it yourself ideas from http://www.homeseaso
ns.com/ and donated the items. If any were sold, the proceeds immediately went to the charity. It just makes you feel warm and great about yourself.
