LEAP YEAR: Eleanor Higginson of Offenham jumps with an instructor to celebrate her 16th birthday.
A VALE teenager celebrated her sweet 16 in an unusual way when she leapt out of a plane thousands of feet in the air. Eleanor Higginson, of Offenham, decided to do something a bit different to mark her birthday on September 22 by doing the tandem skydive at Hinton Airfield, near Brackley, in support of Breast Cancer Care. She had been planning it for more than two years after being inspired by a family friend, who was diagnosed with breast cancer. Miss Higginson thoroughly enjoyed the jump and has smashed her fundraising target of £395. The Evesham High School student is hoping to at least double this figure and perhaps reach £1,000.
