EVESHAM will be illuminated in a festive glow this weekend as Bob the Builder switches on Christmas lights and kicks of a series of events.

The switch-on entertainment begins on Saturday, at 11am with a market in High Street and Bridge Street, Christmas craft fair in Evesham Town Hall, a Victorian penny arcade and children’s rides.

Throughout the day there will be live music on stage, ranging from choirs and carols to pop and jazz bands, as well as the first prize draw in the YES loyalty card scheme.

Meanwhile Bob the Builder and Santa and his reindeer will both be on hand to count down to the Christmas lights switchon and fireworks display from 5.30pm. There will be free parking in the town from 3pm.

Meanwhile, the Rotary Club’s Tree of Light illumination takes place on Thursday, December 6, from 6pm. Then from Friday to Sunday, December 7-9, Christmas skating will return to Evesham with an ice rink in the Market Place. Finally, the runup to the big day will conclude with a Christmas market from December 14-24.
