SIX colourful seats designed by children at a Vale school have been placed around Cropthorne’s village play area.

Pupils from Cropthorne and Charlton First School worked with Pershore artist Paul Groom on the seats, which have been installed on the Sheppey.

They chose to have butterfly and leaf designs after a number of art sessions with Mr Groom, when they explored nature.

He said: “The idea was the children explored shapes and colours in their local landscape.

Then I took the idea and turned them into the murals, which were put on the back of seats. The children even did some of the painting.”

Pictured are pupils Amaya Feeney, Alistair righton, Nathan Bird and Jess Johnson with parish councillor Jane Seager and artist Paul Groom.
