A MAN whose car ended up in the front garden of a house in Evesham had been drinkdriving, a court was told.

Lee Swain, of Main Street, South Littleton, near Evesham, was disqualified from driving from 12 months at Worcester Magistrates Court following the incident on November 19.

The 22-year-old told police “I know I’m in the wrong” when he was arrested after crashing a silver Ford Fiesta through the front wall of the property on Bidford Road.

Matt Dodson, prosecuting, told the court Swain had been drinking with family when a third party arrived and a dispute broke out.

Swain decided to drive over to the other person’s house to smooth things over when he was found to be driving while nearly twice the drink-drive limit. At the police station he was measured as having 66mcg of alcohol in 100ml breath. The legal limit is 35ml.

Swain was fined £250, ordered to pay £85 costs and a compulsory £25 victim surcharge
