THE Fleece Inn at Bretforton continues to support local folk traditions with a series of events over the Christmas holidays.
Christmas events at the National Trust-owned pub start at 5.30pm on Christmas Eve with a visit from Santa Claus, followed by a performance from Bretforton Silver Band and the Bretforton Mummers. This year the mummers have a new play with an asparagus twist and a possible appearance by Gus the Asparagus man himself.
On Boxing Day, from 12.30pm, resident dancers Pebworth Morris take to the floor to celebrate the festive season, followed by a performance by the visiting Shakespeare Mummers at 2pm.
And on New Year’s Eve, there will be a ceilidh with music from the Blue Socks, a fancy dress theme of literary characters and evening supper included in the ticket price of £10.
