THE organisers of the Worcestershire Literary (WLF) festival are launching a new venture for 2013 – Friends of Lit Fest.

Those who sign up to become a friend of the festival will receive advance notifications of WLF events, free tickets for selected events, a membership card and free tickets to the annual Friends’ Forum.

Friends will also have the opportunity to meet other friends and members of the WLF and well-known guests.

Signing up to become a friend will also enable organisers to bring more literary events to the local community.

Lisa Ventura, director and founder of the Worcestershire Literary Festival, said: “Becoming a friend of the Worcestershire Literary Festival is a great way to support us and the events we organise, not just during the festival in June but throughout the year. All proceeds raised will go towards funding the 2013 festival.”

The Friends of Lit Fest was launched earlier this month and people can apply now to receive a Friends of Lit Fest pack. The annual fee is £15.

Friendship Forms are available at worcslitfest.com or a hard copy can be collected from Parole Parlate, WLF’s regular spoken word event, at Little Venice restaurant in Worcester on the first Thursday of each month.
