A CHARITY event raising cash to provide healthcare for poor people on an island in Africa is being held in a Vale village.
The evening supporting African Steps, which works on Likoma Island, Malawi, in partnership with St Peter’s Hospital, will take place on Wednesday, January 30, from 7.30pm at Peopleton Village Hall.
Proceeds will go towards funding solar panels for the hospital. There will be food served, musical entertainment provided by the Belle Joue Spring Quartet and a quiz about Malawi. Tickets for the event, which has been organised by the Pershore Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs, cost £12.50 and are available by calling 01905 841672 or emailing nickyrca@aol.com.
