Big-hearted family saves unloved dogs

ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL: Settling down to a happy family life and future are, from left, Emily Parker with Bitsy, Chloe Harvey with Snoopy and Karen Comfort with Itsy.
A FAMILY of five dogs at a Vale rescue centre found their happy ending when three of them were adopted by members of one family.
The five Jack Russell terriers – including mum, dad and three pups – were rescued from a neglectful home and handed over to Dogs Trust in Evesham last year.
Now Maisey, Duke, Itzy, Bitzy and Snoopy have found new homes.
With Maisey and Duke already settled in to new homes for Christmas, Itzy was next to find a home, thanks to Emily Parker of Winchcombe.
But after seeing her sister’s new pet, Chloe Harvey, Emily’s sister, then rehomed Snoopy leaving their mum to take Bitzy home.
Ms Harvey, of Bishop’s Cleeve, said: “We are so lucky to have not just one but three such terrific little terriers in the family. We all go on regular walks together and Itzy, Bitzy and Snoopy all get on famously so we are really delighted we have been able to keep them in the family.”
Shauna Steadman, of Dogs Trust in Evesham, said: “Maisey and Duke also settled in happily to loving homes of their own just before Christmas so it looks like 2013 will be a very happy year.” Anyone who could home one of the dogs at Evesham’s Dogs Trust should call 01386 830613 or visit dogstrust.org.uk.
