EVESHAM’S museum and heritage centre has announced the start of a new project that will enable residents to find out more about their own history.
The project, based at the Almonry in Abbey Gate, is called Bringing the Past to Light and sees all its paper archives available on a digital database following receipt of a grant of £1,000 from West Midlands Museums Development.
Visitors will be able to book a place on the Discover Your Past sessions beginning in May and view the museum’s collection of photos, postcards, letters and more.
A new group, Friends of the Almonry, has been set up as the museum prepares to apply to the Heritage Lottery Fund for money to improve, protect and preserve the centre.
The centre has also become a partner museum to the BBC’s Your Paintings project.
The Almonry trail and craft activity costs £1 per activity pack and runs until February 23.
